The Author is not responsible for any damages, losses, or incidents caused to any party due to the use of the Character, “CHARACTER_NAME” or the download and subsequent usage of the Voicebank, “VOICEBANK_NAME”.

Notes

For usages requiring permission, assume permission is granted in the event that the original author is unreachable. All terms in this document are subject to change at any time. Defer to the most recent version.

Crediting and Ownership

● The Character, “CHARACTER_NAME” and this Voicebank, “VOICEBANK_NAME” are managed by Team MARINE and voiced by VOICER_NAME.
● It is forbidden to claim either the Character or the Voicebank as your own creations under any circumstance. In the event that you modified either, you may only claim ownership over the modifications, not the whole end product.
● In your works, you must credit the bank somewhere that is clearly visible.
● Crediting the author in your works is not mandatory by any means, but it is appreciated.

AI, Referencing and Voicebank Editing

SVS (Singing Voice Synthesis)

✓ You may use renders of the Voicebank as inference material for “voice-changer” synthesizers (VOCALOCHANGER, RVC, etc.) is allowed, so long as the character and voicebank are explicitly credited and the terms of service of the dataset used are also followed.
✗ You may not use raw samples of the Voicebank as inference material.
✗ You may not use raw samples of the Voicebank or renders made using the Voicebank as training material for any AI synthesizer.

Voicebank Editing

✓ Splicing samples of this Voicebank from other voicebanks voiced by VOICER_NAME to emulate samples that are not present in the core voicebank is permitted.
✗ Splicing samples of this Voicebank from other voicebanks not voiced by VOICER_NAME to create new samples is forbidden under every circumstance.
✓ Modifying config files (oto.ini, .frq, prefix.map) of the Voicebank is permitted.
✓ Modifying the audio with the intent to improve the library (noise cancellation, artifact clean-up, etc.) is permitted.
🛆 Modifying the audio with the intent of altering the natural tone or expression of the library is tentatively permitted, but derivatives are forbidden. (See the “Character Representation” section.)
● Gender flags do not apply to this, and are still OK.
🛆 You may PRIVATELY distribute your modified files upon request, but public distribution is forbidden.

AI Image Generation

✗ None of the artwork created by the author and associated with the Character may be used in the training of AI image generation models, nor may any of it be used in the production of AI-generated images, regardless of whether the model or output are public or private.
✗ While not expressly forbidden, it is heavily discouraged to use any artwork not created by the author and associated with the Character for the above purposes.

Referencing

✗ None of the artwork created by the author and associated with the Character may be used for tracing, recolors, repaints, or photobashing.
✓ Colorpicking from and referencing official materials, such as art of the Character created by the author, for use in user-created art is permitted.

Commercial and Non-Commercial Usage

✓ Non-commercial covers, original works, or other derivative music works (remixes, mashups, etc.) are permitted, so long as you respect the wishes and guidelines of the original creator(s).
🛆 For matters involving commercial usage of the Character or the Voicebank, it is required to contact the author directly for individual approval. Otherwise, all commercial usage is forbidden.
● Commercial usage includes (but is not limited to):
○ The usage of the Voicebank in lead or backing vocals in original commercial music works.
○ The usage of the Character’s image in merchandise, album covers, music videos, etc.
✗ You may not monetize any covers or derivative musical works including the Character or Voicebank without the approval of the original content creator(s).
✗ Usage of Voicebank files in content in other synthesizers or as samples in music or video production is prohibited.

Redistribution

✗ While live, redistribution of the voicebank is strictly prohibited. Direct any requests for the Voicebank or included Character materials to official sources unless they are no longer active or otherwise inaccessible.
⦿ Redistribution of modified configs (oto.ini, .frq files, etc.) is an exception, and permitted.
⦿ The exception to this rule is if the individual requesting the files operates from a location where access to the official source(s) is impossible or unreasonably difficult, in which case PRIVATE redistribution is permitted.
✓ In the event distribution is ceased, private redistribution is permitted.
✓ In the event distribution is ceased, use of the voicebank is still permitted.
🛆 All terms still apply even after discontinuation, and the author will still answer requests for approval regarding commercial usage or other matters even after discontinuation.
🛆 Public or private distribution of ports of the Voicebank to other engines are forbidden, however you may contact the author to inquire about an official distribution of your port.

Character Representation

✗ When using the Voicebank, it must be represented by either the Character of “”, or your own character. You may not represent it with a third party’s intellectual property.
✗ The creation and distribution of derivative voicebanks or characters is forbidden.
✓ The creation of alternative outfits and “AU” (alternate universe) versions, however, are permitted, so long as the Character is still recognizable in appearance as well as their identity.

Limits of Expression

R-18 Usage

✓ R-18 content (ex. pornographic material)—as well as content with sexual themes—including the Character, or using the Voicebank is allowed.
🛆 There is no available canon information included on R-18 aspects of the Character to protect the safety of all audiences, therefore filling in the blanks yourself is permitted so long as all applicable terms are followed.
🛆 Though creation of R-18 material is permitted, ALL SUCH MATERIAL including the Character or Voicebank MUST be explicitly labeled as such for the safety of all audiences, especially when using official hashtags and such on SNS platforms.
✗ Ero-guro content is forbidden.

Usage Limits

✓ You may create personal interpretations of the Character, so long as they are not in direct conflict with their canon information.
✓ You may alter or ignore any of the Character’s non-canon information.
✓ “Genderswapping” of the Character, as well as the use of gender flags to create a “genderswapped” version, is counted as a derivative, and therefore forbidden.
✗ Misgendering the Character themselves, however, is forbidden.
✓ You may pair the Character or Voicebank with any other Character or Voicebank, so long as all relevant terms are followed.
● This includes romantic pairings, in which it is forbidden to go against the canon preferences of the Character. In the event the Character’s preferences are not explicitly listed, pairing them with anyone is OK.
✓ Usage of the Character in doujin works or similar works is permitted and even encouraged.
🛆 In reference to works made of your own intellectual property, it is required—just like in the case of commercial use—to request approval from the author.
✓ It is acceptable to expand on unconfirmed or “neutral” aspects of the Character so long as your interpretations are not in violation of any other terms. Do not claim your own interpretations to be fact, privately or publicly.
✗ It is explicitly forbidden to use the Character or the Voicebank to promote or display incest, pedophilia, sexual assault or abuse in any form.
It is also explicitly forbidden to include them in works of such content matter EVEN IF they are not the primary medium of said information.
✗ You may not use the Voicebank or the Character in criminal or illegal ways or with the intention of promoting such acts.
✗ The use of the Voicebank or Character in the creation of content promoting or displaying hate speech or bigotry is strictly prohibited.
✓ Violent content is permitted.
✗ Excessive violence and gratuitous gore is forbidden.
✗ Political content is forbidden.
✓ Content intended to deliver social commentary is permitted within reason.
✓ Religious content is permitted; content created with the intention to convert others is expressly forbidden.
✓ Content created with the intent to slander or spread hate to individual creators is forbidden.
✗ Content that violates the usage terms of UTAU, OpenUTAU, the Voicebank/Character, or any characters/voicebanks featured alongside them are forbidden.
